Mark O. Johnson, M.D.
Family Medicine
A native of Fargo, ND, Dr. Johnson graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and went to work as a research technician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It was while working there that he decided to pursue a medical degree. He also had seen how much his father-in-law, a family physician, had enjoyed his profession.
Dr. Johnson is a Board Certified Family Physician. He went to Medical School at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and his residency was at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul. He has continued to expand his training in Emergency Medicine
and Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Johnson is the Medical Director for the Glacial Ridge Health System Ambulance Service, and has been in this position since 1990.
Practicing medicine in a smaller community and being able to raise his children in a small town have always been priorities. Glenwood and Glacial Ridge Health System have provided wonderful opportunities for Dr. Johnson and his family.
Together with his wife Mary, Dr. Johnson enjoys golfing, aerobics, traveling, hiking and walking. He is often seen walking his furry white dog, Kobi, a Japanese Spitz. Their two daughters, Kjersti and Britta, both attended their parent’s alma mater, Concordia College.
