We’re looking for an experienced RN to join our team in providing comprehensive, compassionate, heartfelt care at Glenwood Medical Center. Clinical/nurse calls get transferred to the triage nurse who will assist the patient in obtaining an appointment or provide approved advice which will be documented in the EMR. The Clinic RN needs to effectively communicate with the physician/nurse practitioner/physician assistant/LPN teams. This position will also assist in preparing refills for physicians/nurse practitioners/physician assistants per practice protocol and assist the providers with patient care as needed.

Technical Knowledge

  • Recognize, interpret, record and report significant patient data.
  • Assists in the development of patient care policy and procedures as requested.
  • Keeps up to date on latest nursing techniques and equipment.
  • Keeps up to date on Prescription and OTC medications or has resources available.

Interpersonal Relationships

  • Seeks others’ opinions readily regarding patient care needs, specifically communicates with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants for advice.
  • Interacts appropriately with patients, families, other professional staff, and other departmental staff.
  • Demonstrates tactfulness when working with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

  • Reports patient care concerns and condition changes (i.e. nursing home calls) to the primary physician or on-call physician.
  • Meets or exceeds written standards of patient care/process and protocol.
  • Assist with orientation of new employees.


  • Participates in learning/teaching opportunities with other staff, i.e. LPN, NA, or community members.
  • Assumes professional responsibility for duties.

Other Duties

  • Manages the Protime/INR Clinic
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN license within the state of Minnesota.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Clinical experience; 5 or more years preferred.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Team building.
  • Must adhere to HIPAA confidentiality standards.
  • Must adhere to the Keys to Heartfelt Care.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
