Desktop Support Technician

Glacial Ridge Health System is seeking a full-time technician to provide on-the-floor support to hospital and clinic staff within the organization’s desktop computing environment, as well as manage preventive maintenance protocols. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading desktop related software and hardware to ensure optimal workstation performance. We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, reliable and caring person with desktop computer skills; prefer some experience with Windows operating systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working understanding of Windows Operating Systems and Office Suites.
  • Enjoy working with and helping people.
  • Work well without supervision.
  • Quick learner.
  • Must be very conscientious about doing work carefully and accurately.
  • Excellent active listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to assume on-call duties on a rotating basis.
  • Able to work unstructured schedule as needed.
  • Must meet physical requirements of the job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems, across a range of software applications.
  • Assist all users with any logged IT related incident when called upon.
  • Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
  • Install and configure new IT equipment.
  • Resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware.
  • Maintain a first-class level of service ensuring that all end users are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization.
  • Be a highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Attend training courses as identified and agreed for appropriate development.
  • Initiate other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary.

  • Regular attendance is necessary for continued employment.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time
  • On-call schedule (after qualification training)
  • Varied Hours as needed
