Ultrasound Technologist

Our Radiology Department is on the lookout for a dedicated part-time Ultrasound Technologist. Join us in delivering top-notch care by performing various diagnostic ultrasound procedures with compassion and safety. You’ll use state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images that help our patients and physicians. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ultrasound work as requested by medical doctors and providers on staff.
  • Determine patient’s ultrasound needs by reading orders or instructions from providers.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • Maintain a current file of examination protocols.
  • Maintain records of patients examined, examinations performed, ultrasound worksheets and other pertinent information.
  • Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions equipment to supervisor.
  • Responsible for performing QA for the ultrasound department.
  • Responsible for orderliness of room and stocking supplies.
  • Notify supervisor of supplies that need to be ordered.
  • Responsible for helping scheduling ultrasound exams when department Unit Coordinator is out. Also responsible for checking schedules and orders.
  • Follow organization and staff policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance.
  • Maintain quality control log for high level disinfectant solution for ultrasound transducers.
  • Keep up to date on continuing education credits to maintain current licensure.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • Must be RDMS registered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Team building.

Performance Standards

  • Must adhere to HIPAA confidentiality standards.
  • Must adhere to the Keys to Heartfelt Care.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
