Getting a flu (influenza) vaccine is easy. For your convenience, walk-in flu vaccination clinics are offered – no appointment needed. Insurance will be billed. Most plans cover flu shots as a preventive service. This means you may not pay anything for your flu shot.

Types of vaccines available at Glacial Ridge Health System:

    • No Preservative: ages 6 months and older
    • Quadrivalent (4 strains)
    • No Preservative High Dose: ages 65 years+

Flu and vaccine facts:

  • It takes about two weeks after getting the flu shot to be protected so consider getting vaccinated now.
  • There is no live flu virus in flu shots. They cannot cause influenza.
  • The flu is a respiratory illness that can cause mild to severe symptoms.
  • In some cases, the flu can lead to death.
  • An annual flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older is the most important step in protecting yourself and your loved ones from the flu.
