General Surgeon, Elizabeth Colsen, M.D., FACS, at Glacial Ridge Health System, is now a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She was inducted on October 27, 2019 with over 2,000 other surgeons nationwide.

The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.

On its 100th year anniversary, there are now more than 83,000 Fellows of the American College of Surgeons, utilizing the highest standards for better patient outcomes.
