Glacial Ridge Health System welcomes Dr. Michael Holte as our full-time, on-staff orthopedist, as we continue to expand the healthcare provided to residents in Pope County and beyond. From hip and knee replacements to sports medicine, Dr. Holte has 27 years of experience and proven results in surgery and general orthopedics, as well as a Mayo Clinic residency.
“Most of the time I can help people with orthopedic conditions without surgery, but I also have the ability to do surgery when appropriate,” he said. “I look forward to making a difference in the lives of Glacial Ridge patients.”
Dr. Holte specializes in knee and hip replacements, as well as minimally-invasive procedures (arthroscopy), sports medicine, rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel, ACL reconstruction, fractures, and other orthopedic procedures.
Dr. Holte earned his doctor of medicine degree at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. His five-year internship and residency in orthopedic surgery were completed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and culminated in being selected chief resident. He was surgeon/owner/partner in private orthopedic practices in Aberdeen, SD before moving to Central MN. Most recently, he was head of surgery and chief medical officer at local medical centers in Morris and Benson.
“I am eager to provide orthopedic care as part of the Glacial Ridge healthcare team,” he said. “When you meet the people on staff here, you’ll know why it’s such a great hospital—it’s because of the great people.”
