Join us in welcoming the newest member of our medical team, Family Nurse Practitioner Megan Grimsley.
Megan feels fortunate to have grown up in the Clontarf / Benson area with a close-knit family. She always knew she wanted a job where she could help others, and working as a clinic receptionist in high school piqued her interest in healthcare.
Upon becoming a certified family nurse practitioner, Megan began searching for a job in rural healthcare and was determined to find an employer whose work had value and impact. The heart of her decision to join Glacial Ridge Health System was its commitment to heartfelt care and the helpful, positive staff. In addition, healthcare staff are forever learning, and having co-workers who place great importance on that was huge.
She attended Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Detroit Lakes for her associate RN degree followed by a bachelor of science in nursing at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and capped it off at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks with a masters in nursing.
Her patient-centered care begins with an honest and open relationship. Working with patients on an individualized plan that they feel is attainable is vital to empowering them to realize they can achieve wellness. She enjoys rural medicine and has special medical interests in urgent care, emergency medicine, and women’s health.
Megan is married and has four kids who all helped make her dream of becoming a nurse practitioner possible by supporting her along the way. She enjoys hanging out with her family, going out on the pontoon together, traveling, trying new places/food with her husband, and trips in the fall with her sister and mom. She loves fall, cloudy/rainy days, Christmas, and Pinterest!
Megan cares for patients at the Walk-In Clinic in Glenwood and at Brooten Medical Center.
