Glacial Ridge Health System has added a new face to our growing team of medical staff: Family Nurse Practitioner Amy Brandt, DNP.
Amy graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris with a double major in sociology and human services followed by a bachelors in nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Her first job as an RN was at Glacial Ridge Hospital. After working as a nurse for 14 years, Amy went on to earn a doctorate in nursing practice from Creighton University in Omaha, NE with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Her special medical interests include orthopedics, pediatrics, and cardiovascular health.
During her residency at Glenwood Medical Center, Amy immediately felt at home and knew this is where she wanted to practice medicine. The continuous expansion of the facility, as well as the atmosphere of warmth and kindness from staff, impressed her the most. Many co-workers even remembered her from when she was an RN and welcomed her back as if she had never left. The positive, supportive, teamwork-based environment at GRHS is the exact work environment she was seeking.
Amy cares for patients at both the Walk-In Clinic in Glenwood and Starbuck Medical Center.
Amy and her husband Jared live in Morris with their two sons, Dylan and Ethan. During her leisure time, she enjoys Taekwondo, biking, traveling, singing, learning to play guitar, and spending time with her family.
