Becky was born and raised in the community of Burwell, NE. During high school, she worked as a nurses’ aide at their community hospital where her mother was the director of nursing. After graduation, she pursued a career in nursing at Byam School of Nursing in Lincoln, NE. To support her growing interest in caring for horses and cattle, Becky went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in animal science at the University of Minnesota.
After encouragement from her mother and a physician assistant she worked with, Becky pursued an advanced degree in medicine. She is proud to have graduated with a physician assistant degree from the same university as her mother – the University of North Dakota.
Becky enjoys all areas of emergency medicine, especially trauma care and orthopedics. Working with people and being able to help them when they need it most is very rewarding.
After living in Oklahoma for 10 years, Becky is excited to be back in Minnesota. She raises horses and cattle on a ranch near Pillager and has several dogs and cats. She and her partner have two sons and are drawn to close-knit agricultural communities and friendly people.
Becky was attracted to Glacial Ridge Health System because it is a community hospital with friendly staff, and the position allows her the opportunity to spend more time with her family. Together they enjoy traveling as well as riding horses, caring for their cattle, camping, and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team.
