Kimberly A. VerSteeg, D.O., FACOG

professional picture of a womanDr. Kimberly VerSteeg has loved everything about science ever since she was a child growing up in northeastern Iowa. Her mother’s career as an RN surgical nurse sparked her interest in the field of medicine and surgery. Caring for women of all ages, Dr. VerSteeg provides a variety of OB/GYN care in the clinic, performs surgery, and gets to be part of the magical experience of delivering babies.

She attended Iowa State University for her bachelor’s degree followed by medical school at Des Moines University and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. VerSteeg is a board certified OB/GYN and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. VerSteeg has 16 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology including cesarean deliveries and minimally invasive gynecologic surgical services. She began her career in Iowa where she worked for ten years prior to moving to northern Minnesota. Dr. VerSteeg began seeing patients at Glacial Ridge Health System in January 2020.

Sometimes, only another woman can really understand what you are going through. In addition to her extensive background in women’s health, Dr. VerSteeg has firsthand experience with women’s health issues including a complicated twin pregnancy. Her patient-centered care begins with an honest and open relationship. When caring for women, she approaches the visit from your perspective – your concerns and your physical, emotional, social and environmental influences on your health. She especially likes being able to help women get relief from menstrual and menopausal issues.

Dr. VerSteeg and her husband have a son and twin girls. They enjoy being outdoors and love to go boating. When she is not with her family or gardening, she is likely on a bike ride. As an avid bicyclist pedaling 1,500 miles a year, she trains indoors and out. This summer will be her 9th annual weeklong RAGBRAI – The Des Moines Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.
