DESCRIPTION:You don’t have to go fast\, you just have to go!\nKeep moving through COVID-19!  The GRHS 5K Scrub Run was inspired by Dr. Mark Johnson 6 years ago because he was always a strong advocate for living a healthy and active lifestyle. The background of this event has always been a “family-friendly event; and whatever your health and fitness goals are\, you can achieve them.” Your daily life can include physical activity and movement of any form! \nKeep it simple – 2020 Virtual Scrub Run Rules: \n\nSaturday\, June 13 – any time of the day\nRun\, Walk\, Hike\, or Bike – alone or with your family\nStay at least 6 feet apart from members of other households\nGo the distance that challenges you – one mile or 10 miles\, it’s up to you!\nTake pictures! Have FUN and get creative! Post your picture to your Facebook page and you will be entered in a drawing. Tag Glacial Ridge Health System and use the hashtag #scrubrun2020\nBONUS: Double your chances by wearing scrubs\, or a Scrub Run t-shirt from a previous year.\nThe drawing will be held on Monday\, June 15\, and announced on Facebook. SUMMARY:Peripheral Artery Disease Screening
DESCRIPTION:PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease) is a common disease caused by a buildup of fatty deposits in the blood vessels of the legs. \nA symptom of PAD is described as a cramping or aching in the calf\, thigh\, or buttock that comes on with walking and is relieved by rest. That is why we tell people to “Listen to your Legs.” The discomfort is caused by the decreased blood supply to the leg muscles during physical activity. \nThe trained PAD Rehab nurses are conducting a FREE SCREENING on Thursday\, November 29 from 11am – 2pm at Glacial Ridge Hospital\, Outreach Services. Call Joni at 320.334.5433 to sign-up for a free screening if you have PAD symptoms or any of these risk factors: \n\nDiabetes\nHigh blood pressure\nHigh cholesterol\nYou smoke or have a history of smoking\nAge 65 or older\n\nPAD is diagnosed by using the Ankle-Brachial Index test. Allow approximately 30 minutes for the test. You will receive your results immediately following the screening.
