Healthy Aging: A Wellness Education Series – May 2026
Navigating Change
Change can bring joy and excitement—but for many older adults, it can also be emotionally challenging. Changes in health, mobility, family routines, grief, loneliness, and memory difficulties can make it feel overwhelming instead of something you’re looking forward to.
Who’s Invited:
This free, welcoming session is designed for older adults and their caregivers.
Common Challenges for Seniors
- Loneliness or social isolation – Less time with family or changes in relationships
- Grief and loss – Missing loved ones who have passed can intensify sadness during special dates
- Health changes or mobility limitations – Activities, travel, and busy schedules may feel physically or emotionally taxing
- Memory or cognitive changes – Large gatherings, noise, or new environments may bring confusion or anxiety
- Pressure to “feel joy” – Many older adults hide their sadness because they do not want to burden others
Join us for a conversation on:
- Ways to support your emotional wellness during the hard days
- How to honor memories and stay connected
- Creating calm, predictable routines
- How to process all of the feelings you may have
Where:
The session will be held in the meeting room at Ridgewood Villa, just north of Glacial Ridge Health System. Please use the Villa’s main entrance off Franklin Avenue in Glenwood.
Each session in the Healthy Aging Series highlights a different area of well-being with tools to support your mind, body, and quality of life. Kelly Jones, an RN educator with Senior Life Solutions at Glacial Ridge, leads the monthly sessions. We look forward to seeing you there!
