New Home With Friendly People Was Just What Mom Needed
Joyce J., Lowry
When my father passed away in mid-December, I knew my mother would not be able to live in their house on the farm alone with winter coming. I heard about Ridgewood Villa so we checked it out. We loved the neat, spacious apartments with a full kitchen and everything that the Villa had to offer including meals and same-floor laundry. She chose her apartment, moved in, and her new home was just what she needed. Getting to know the other residents and staff was a joy. They were so friendly and knew her by her first name right away making the transition easier. After about 6 months, my mother had a medical emergency that required surgery and a hospital stay – right next door to the Villa – and they took great care of her. She is very happy she found a new home at the Villa, and we feel blessed to have her so close by. Her needs are being taken care of by a very caring and helpful staff and housing director.
We really have the best time here.
Bob and Lucy B., Glenwood
It was getting harder and harder to keep up living in our house. Our kids and grandkids were worried about us living at home, and this has given them great peace of mind. Even little things like paying the bills is easier because almost everything is included. When we moved, the other tenants welcomed us with open arms, and everyone looks out for each other here. We have a lot of fun together. The location of the hospital just across the street was very important to us too.
My Mother Received Compassionate and Thorough Care
Deborah H., Glenwood
My mom was fairly new to the area, moving to Glenwood from Southern California. She was not feeling well so I took her to the Glenwood Medical Center across the street. The doctor she saw was kind and compassionate, concerned, thorough, and sweet – as well as the nursing staff. They all took such good care of my mom who lives at Ridgewood Villa. Her care could not have been better. Thank you GRHS for everything to help my mom.

Beginning January 1, 2019, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are requiring hospitals and health systems to post their “current, standard charges.”
Hospital charges are the amount a hospital bills an insurer for a service. For most patients, hospitals are reimbursed at a level well below charges. Patients covered by commercial insurance products have negotiated rates with hospitals. Patients covered by Medicare or Medicaid programs have hospital reimbursement rates determined by federal and state governments.
Hospital charges may include bundled procedures, personnel, services and supplies. An example would be room rates that include the space, equipment, nursing personnel and supplies.
When a patient has the opportunity to shop for medical services, he or she should contact his or her own insurance carrier to understand which costs will be covered and which will be the patient’s responsibility.
Patients should contact the hospital directly for any further details.
