We know that elective surgery is often a necessary surgery—a procedure you need to alleviate pain, regain mobility, avoid future complications, and live healthier. Our Board-Certified Surgeons have performed thousands of procedures using the latest technology in state-of-the-art operating rooms. On-staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are always available, even for unscheduled surgeries and cesarean section (C-Section) deliveries.
Most procedures are performed laparoscopically, or through a single incision, so you will have less scarring, a faster recovery, and a shorter hospital stay. And many surgical procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, so you can recover comfortably at home. You’ll enjoy convenience and peace of mind at Glacial Ridge Center for Surgical Care in Glenwood.
I would recommend them to everyone! I have never had such caring people watch over me and take care of me! So often you get ‘pushed’ to other services outside our area, but Glacial Ridge has never done this to me! They always get to the root of my problems. The surgical team here is the best I have ever experienced! I’ve been to others and nothing compares. They have great anesthetists here who actually ask enough questions to take care of us too. This facility is definitely heartfelt care! I love my doctors and nurses here.
Returning to Glenwood: Best Choice for Surgery
Shannon W., Cottage Grove, MN
I had my gallbladder removed, and the care I received at GRHS was the most heartfelt, individualized, attentive care I have ever had. Everyone that I came across gave me their undivided attention and compassionate care. I truly felt that I was not just a routine surgery. In addition, the follow-up care, phone calls, and check-in from multiple staff members reassured me that I made the best choice in returning to Glenwood to get the best care. Thanks to all!
Full-Service Under One Roof
Barbara S., Glenwood, MN
I had a total replacement of my right knee on June 6th. The surgery was done in the new operating facility of Glacial Ridge Hospital, and the care after surgery was excellent. The nurses and aides were so careful about all the aspects of my recovery. They truly did TLC. Having all these services under one roof – surgery, aftercare, swing bed, and therapy – is so comfortable and sensible. I couldn’t be more pleased. We are indeed blessed with a wonderful full-service hospital and wonderful caregivers.
A Farmer With No Time for a Hernia
Tim, Pope County, MN
For the past year, I had nagging pain and tenderness in my abdomen. I saw my regular doctor, Dr. Haus, who discovered a hernia and referred me to the general surgeon. The surgery went well, and I was only uncomfortable for about a week instead of up to three weeks that it takes some people to recover. The staff is always friendly, and it’s a pleasant place to come when I need to see a doctor.
You’ll receive the best care and treatment in our area for the following procedures and more:
Breast
Biopsies – Sentinel Node
Lumpectomies/Mastectomies
Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
Gastrointestinal
General Surgeries including Gallbladder
GERD Repair – and Hiatal Hernia (for Reflux and Heartburn)
Beginning January 1, 2019, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are requiring hospitals and health systems to post their “current, standard charges.”
Hospital charges are the amount a hospital bills an insurer for a service. For most patients, hospitals are reimbursed at a level well below charges. Patients covered by commercial insurance products have negotiated rates with hospitals. Patients covered by Medicare or Medicaid programs have hospital reimbursement rates determined by federal and state governments.
Hospital charges may include bundled procedures, personnel, services and supplies. An example would be room rates that include the space, equipment, nursing personnel and supplies.
When a patient has the opportunity to shop for medical services, he or she should contact his or her own insurance carrier to understand which costs will be covered and which will be the patient’s responsibility.
Patients should contact the hospital directly for any further details.
