5K, 10K, half marathon Training Plan

Running for Beginners – Six-week Plan

Your first steps include:

1) Own a very good pair of running shoes.

2) Stay hydrated. Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day, or more if it’s hot outside or you’re exerting yourself.

Other good ideas:

1) Run with a buddy, even if you don’t run at the same pace. You’ll keep each other accountable.

2) Wear clothes that make you feel good.

3) Consider adding some strength training into your routine.

4) Don’t forget to warm-up before you exercise with some dynamic stretching to get your heart and muscles warmed up a little. Save the 30-second stretches for after your run/walk. Aim for 5 months both before and after a strenuous workout.
