Dr. Joshua Thomas is our full-time orthopedic surgeon at Glacial Ridge Health System who has extensive training and a compassionate heart for healing.
As a child growing up in Waterford, MI, Dr. Joshua Thomas learned valuable life lessons that helped shape him into the empathetic and skilled orthopedic specialist he is today. His childhood was a perfect blend of outdoor activities, strong values, and hard work.
Dr. Thomas is known for his caring, patient-centric approach to medicine. Prioritizing compassion, he actively listens to his patients and involves them in treatment decisions. His dedication to educating patients empowers them to better understand their conditions and treatment options.
Dr. Thomas earned his Master of Biomedical Sciences at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at Michigan State University, East Lansing, followed by an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, MI. Dr. Thomas also achieved a higher level of orthopedic surgical training with a Johns Hopkins Shoulder Fellowship in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Thomas established his orthopedic surgical practice in Glenwood due to the supportive medical community at Glacial Ridge Health System. Additionally, he and his wife also enjoyed the beautiful environment, friendly atmosphere, and small-town vibe with Lake Minnewaska nearby. Dr. Thomas’ goal is to provide the best orthopedic care for our community.
When he’s not providing patient care, Dr. Thomas enjoys adventures with his wife, Crystal, and their loyal dog, Pokey. They love to travel and enjoy outdoor activities like boating, fishing, snowboarding, ice-fishing, golfing, and enjoying good meals.
