Sara Martin, CNP

Accepting new patients. Call 320-634-5157 to schedule an appointment in Glenwood or 320-346-2272 in Brooten.

Sara Martin, CNP, provides primary care for patients of all ages, from well-child exams and sports physicals to treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, along with chronic disease management. Her special medical interests include family medicine, women’s health, orthopedics, cardiology, and surgery. She also speaks conversational Spanish.

Born and raised in Glenwood, Sara grew up with close relationships with her grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Helping her mom care for her grandparents made her want to become a caregiver, then a nurse, and eventually a provider.

Sara earned her LPN diploma from Ridgewater College in Willmar and her RN through Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls. She continued her education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. With more than 15 years of experience as a registered nurse, Sara became a Family Nurse Practitioner, completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD. She practiced in rural healthcare for three years before joining Glacial Ridge Health System in November 2026.

For Sara, being able to care for patients in the community where she grew up and is now raising her own family was the biggest draw to GRHS. The culture, staff retention, and work-life balance the team promotes made the decision easy. She values the connections that come with rural care, often knowing not only her patients but their parents and grandparents as well.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her partner, Justin, their two children, and their Labradoodle, Cocoa. Family time often means biking, four-wheeling, camping, and traveling together. She also enjoys crafting, gardening, and canning, and has been a member of the VFW Auxiliary since 2001.
