A native of Morris, MN, Margie has wanted to be a nurse since early childhood. Her aunts made her paper nurses’ caps, and her dad was a willing patient when she wanted to play nurse. She knew many nice family doctors and nurses, and her extended family members in the medical field encouraged and supported her.
Margie enjoys working with people of all ages, and her approach to medical care is patient focused. She truly listens to and learns from patients, getting to know them as individuals and tailoring their health care to fit them. Margie’s medical interests include prevention – especially through nutrition and patient education, and mental health.
After attending South Dakota State University in Brookings for her undergraduate degree, she earned her master of science in nursing at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She joined Glacial Ridge Health System in January 2014 with years of experience as a certified nurse practitioner.
Margie was attracted to Glacial Ridge Health System because of the helpful and friendly staff, beautiful facility, and great teamwork. Her uncle served on the board of directors for many years and was very proud of the organization. The friendly people and strong community spirit drew her to Glenwood along with the beautiful landscapes and family ties to the area.
She likes to laugh and have fun. Margie enjoys entertaining, decorating, cooking, gardening, reading, community theatre, and movies. She also likes going for walks with her husband and golden retriever. Margie and her husband have two grown children.
