ER Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

As an independent level IV trauma center and acute stroke-ready hospital, we also provide a wide array of medical services, including clinics, homecare, hospice, and therapy. Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute illnesses/injuries in a fast-paced, dynamic emergency department environment.
- Initial evaluation, history, physical examination, emergency procedures, and interpretation of various diagnostic studies.
- Treat all levels of acuity, including adults and pediatrics.
- Initial evaluation, history, physical examination, emergency procedures, and interpretation of various diagnostic studies.
- Provide emergency care, including trauma, POCUS, airway management, vascular access, minor surgical procedures, casting, suturing, ordering, and interpreting labs and x-rays.
- Opportunity for advanced training in resuscitative transesophageal echocardiography, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, advanced resuscitative procedures, and REBOA.
- Manage complex medical patients.
- Formulate differential diagnosis based on patient symptoms and test results.
- Proficient in the documentation and computerized EMR and CPOE.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Emergency Department experience is required.
- Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
- Physician Assistant certification through the Nation Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). For Nurse Practitioners, certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
- Current Minnesota License.
- ACLS, ATLS, and PALS Certification.
