Hospital Auxiliary’s Harvest Ball Raises $20,000

The Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Hospital hosted another successful Harvest Ball fundraiser which allowed them to complete their $50,000 pledge from three years ago. Hospital Auxiliary Treasurer Vonnie Anderson presented a check for $10,000 to hospital nurses Ashley Bacon, Tara Giese, and Hayley Hoiland.

The $50,000 pledge was to purchase 22 new vital sign machines for the new hospital rooms. Since the new wing opened in December 2017, the addition of the in-room machines has been an asset for both patients and nursing staff.

Auxiliary members and GRHS employees are truly grateful for all the support from the community. The remaining $10,000 raised from this year’s Harvest Ball will be donated toward the next project the hospital auxiliary selects.

A Look Back at the Ball

Hosted by the Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Hospital, the elegant Ball is the organization’s primary fundraiser of the year. The sold-out event on Friday, October 12 started at 5 p.m. Attendees took part in the silent auction, walls of wine and craft beer raffles, and a 50:50 drawing. The chance board had a one if 50 chance to win a nest thermostat and google home mini bundle.

Dinner began at 7 p.m. followed by a live auction featuring auctioneers from Zielsdorf Auctioneers. The auction featured outdoor equipment such as a Trek Verve 2 bike donated by Jake’s Bikes and GRHS medical staff, and a paddleboard from Hangloose MN. Another hot item was an autographed Anthony Barr Vikings football helmet. Kevin Klimek performed music throughout the dinner and then The Enterprise Band joined Klimek at 9 p.m. to open up the dance floor.

The next Harvest Ball will be Saturday, October 4, 2019, at Lakeside. Tickets go on sale late August.
