Get Ready for 15th Annual Harvest Ball

Originally Published in the Pope County Tribune, September 16, 2019

The 15th annual Harvest Ball is quickly approaching. On Oct. 4 at Lakeside Ballroom, community members will have the opportunity to dress up and enjoy an evening with friends. Doors open with social hour at 5 p.m. where ball-goers will be able to view the live and silent auction items as well as sign up for raffles and bid on the “Walls of Wine.”

Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and guests can expect a gourmet meal of spinach salad, dinner rolls, chicken piccata with garlic caper lemon sauce and rice pilaf, French green beans with craisins and candied walnuts as well as dessert. Everyone will have the chance to sit down, eat, and relax before the dancing begins at 9 p.m. This year’s ball will feature The Enterprise Band.

The Enterprise Band cover a wide variety of musical styles, including: 1960s to 1970s country, 1960s to 1970s rock, blues, smooth jazz and original songs.

This year, Glacial Ridge Hospital System’s Therapy Services Department will see a big remodel. The remodel will benefit the occupational therapy and speech therapy sections of the department. There will be an enclosed room for lymphedema treatment and a separate, more private room for the speech therapist’s office and treatment area. The proceeds from this year’s Harvest Ball will be donated to help cover the cost of the renovation.

The live auction features a multitude of items for ball-goers to bid on. Some items include: a Trek step through bike from Jake’s Bikes in Alexandria, $200 towards a Hunts Resort pontoon rental, a Breathe Easy Cottage vacation rental, dinner on Lake Minnewaska for six to eight people (the bid winner chooses the 2020 date and a dinner with all the fixings will take place at Teri and Nick Houle’s home), three different pie packages (winners will receive four pies a year that are homemade by auxiliary members), and additional items that will be featured at the Harvest Ball.

The chance board this year will feature an iRobot Roomba 677 as the prize. Raffle tickets are available for attendees and are only $10 per square.

Tickets for the Harvest Ball are $50 per person and every ticket includes a $20 tax-deductible donation. Tickets may be purchased at the Glacial Ridge Hospital main entrance. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Sept. 20. For questions or further information, call Joanna at 320-334-5539.
