Employees from Glacial Ridge Health System (GRHS) presented a check for $10,605 to the local United Way toward their annual LIVE UNITED fundraising drive.
This year’s donation goal, set by GRHS’ United Way Committee, was to raise $10,000 with a stretch goal of $10,500. In celebration of achieving their stretch goal, GRHS had a pizza party for all employees. The committee posts a thermometer in the Café to keep everyone informed and excited about the difference they were making as they watch it rise.
Employees were offered multiple ways to donate, which contributes to the success of the annual fundraising drive. Employees could donate by writing a one-time check, set up payroll deductions, or use a PTO cash-out option. More than half of the United Way donations came through the PTO donation option. It gave many employees the ability to donate more than they could otherwise. Every dollar helps, and no gift is too small.
The direct and long-lasting impact in our community of the United Way programs inspired generosity. In fact, 99 cents of every dollar raised in Pope County for the United Way stays in Pope County. Since the annual campaign first began at GRHS in 2011, employees have donated $95,565 to the United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties.
