No One Fights Alone

It takes only one person with a plan to start the momentum. Kate Jacobsen (left) wanted to do something special for people in our community who are battling cancer. Kate’s idea was to put together some comfort kits for patients undergoing chemotherapy at Glacial Ridge Hospital. She reached out to her Facebook friends to help with a donation so they could touch more lives.

small white rectangular and square boxes, hand lotion, lip balm, orange foil tea bags, khaki knit winter hat with furry pom pom, cream zippered canvas pouch, says BEAUTYKate ordered the skincare products and assembled the gift pouches with tea packets, hand lotion, and lip moisturizer. Krista Gosseling, owner of Northern Print Co., saw Kate’s Facebook post and donated a fleece lined woven hat to each comfort kit as well.

Each of the donated comfort bags has a tag identifying who made it possible and what city they’re from. It’s a special reminder that they’re not alone in this fight – others are thinking of them. In addition, an encouraging message is on the reverse for when times get tough for the patients.
