Originally from Sauk Rapids, Tim Montag became interested in healthcare upon going through the healing process after a track and field injury in high school. Courses in anatomy and physiology intrigued him, and he discovered he loved learning how the body works. These experiences, along with his desire to help people are what led Tim to pursue a career in the medical field.
Tim strives to listen to his patient’s concerns and fully understand where they are coming from. He understands the need to diagnose and treat illness, yet wants to make sure his patients leave the office visit feeling cared for, not just taken care of.
Tim obtained his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees at Northwestern Health Science University in Bloomington, then worked in the Sartell area for several years before going back to school. After earning his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of North Dakota, Tim worked in an urgent care clinic in Minneapolis for six years before joining GRHS in July 2019. His special medical interests include sports injuries, acute illnesses, tick-borne infections, and nutrition.
He and his family were attracted to the beautiful lakes and wanted to be closer to family nearby. The people, atmosphere, and family-first focus at Glacial Ridge Health System were important factors in making the decision to move to the Glenwood area.
Tim enjoys bicycling, playing guitar and piano, singing, and being involved in church activities; many of these things he enjoys with his wife Camille and their three children.
