Here’s your chance to make a real difference in the Brooten and Belgrade area—and earn extra income while doing it. Brooten Ambulance critically needs additional on-call Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) and EMTs. You can keep your full-time job and take flexible, on-call shifts that fit your schedule. On-call time is paid at $5.75 per hour, and you’ll earn $26.28 per hour as an EMT or $20.66 per hour as an EMR when responding to emergencies.
Without two ambulance personnel available in Brooten, the ambulance can’t leave the garage. In those cases, 911 calls are dispatched from Glenwood. While that response time meets state standards, it’s not the level of service this community has relied on for decades.
Glacial Ridge Health System provides all the training you need at no cost to gain the skills and confidence to respond in medical emergencies. The hands-on training and teamwork in emergency services make this a rewarding way to serve your community. With training and experience, EMRs and EMTs can also work full-time with Glacial Ridge Ambulance.
To join, you must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to reach the Brooten ambulance garage within 3–5 minutes when on call—whether from home, work, or while staying with someone in Brooten during your shift.
Two Opportunities Available:
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR): Get licensed to drive the ambulance and assist the EMT. Training includes a state-approved EMR course, CPR certification, and an Emergency Vehicle Operator course. The role requires some physical ability to assist with patient lifting.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): Glacial Ridge Ambulance also offers a paid EMR-to-EMT program, covering your education while you gain experience as an EMR.
If you’re caring, calm under pressure, and want to be part of something that really matters, consider joining the team.
