The Harvest Ball is quickly approaching, with September 22 being the last day to buy tickets! Friday, October 6, Minnewaska House will be transformed into a “Fly Me To The Moon,” Sinatra-era lounge theme where community members can dress up and enjoy an evening with friends. Doors open with a social hour at 5 p.m., where ball-goers can view the live and silent auction items and play the popular raffle games with the Wall of Wine and Wall of Beer, Chance Board, and 50/50 cash raffle. This year, the Auxiliary added a new Yeti Cup raffle game. They are selling a limited number of Yeti cups at $50 each. Each cup has a raffle ticket inside, and the winner gets $1000.
With Colin Cochran providing piano music during dinner, guests can expect a piano bar ambiance and a delicious meal from the Minnewaska House. Dinner is followed by a live auction conducted by Zielsdorf Auctioneers. The silent auction and raffles will continue briefly before the dancing begins at 9 p.m.
Dance to Live Music by Jackson and The Burn
Jackson Burns, Mike Miller, and Mark Thoreen have played music together for over 20 years! The trio plays blues, rock, country, and everything in between. They pride themselves on taking requests and letting the audience dictate the music for the evening. Jackson states, “If we’ve heard it, we can play it”. Jackson grew up in Glenwood, and Mark in Morris; they’ve been friends since third grade. Jack and Mark met Mike (Grand Rapids) at SCSU in 1998.
Tickets for the Harvest Ball are $75 per person, and every ticket includes a $50 tax-deductible donation. Purchase tickets at the Glacial Ridge Hospital main entrance or call Joanna at 320.334.5539. The deadline for purchasing tickets is September 22.
The Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Health System has supported the hospital’s efforts since 1939 when Ann Bickle organized the group. Proceeds from this year’s Harvest Ball will go toward their $50,000 pledge to pay for the new bone density scanner in the Radiology Department.
