The Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Health System held its 19th Annual Harvest Ball on Friday, October 6, at Minnewaska House. It was a fun-filled event, with hanging moons, stars, and sparkling lights to create an ambiance that perfectly fit the Sinatra-era “Fly Me To The Moon” theme.
The live auction was among the evening’s most entertaining and successful aspects of the fundraiser. Pictured are two of the eight items that were up for bid. Dr. Tom Haus and Jake Capistrant are standing with the e-bike (and accessories) donated by Jake’s Bikes in Alexandria and members of the GRHS medical staff. Also pictured are Mark Jager from Ace Hardware in Glenwood and Brendon Stryhn from Stryhn Builds, who donated the 4-burner Blackstone Griddle. Other items in the live auction included Chanhassen Dinner Theatre tickets, an 18′ Lily Pad donated by Bobber’s Marine, a $500 gift card to Tom’s Market donated by Tom Buysse, an “Assistant Butcher Experience” donated by Eric Jensen at Minnewaska Meats, a “Brewmaster for a Day Experience” donated by Darren and Angie Anderson at Minnewaska House Brewing Co., and holiday door décor donated by the Stumpf family with Evergreen Park Tree Farm. The live auction was the most successful Harvest Ball live auction to date, raising more than $5,800 toward the Auxiliary’s fundraising goal. Aaron Olson and Brad Feuchtenberger with Zielsdorf Auction Services enthusiastically conducted the auction.
The Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Health System has supported the hospital’s efforts since 1939 when Ann Bickle organized the group. Proceeds from this year’s Harvest Ball will pay the rest of their $50,000 pledge for the new bone density scanner in the Radiology Department.
