A Full-Circle Moment of Kindness

Four years ago, Kailer came through the Glacial Ridge Hospital Emergency Department after a mowing accident while visiting family in the area. In the middle of a frightening day, a small act of kindness—a handmade blanket and a handwritten card from local 1st-grade students—brought her comfort and courage.

That moment stayed with her. Ever since, Kailer has wanted to give that same comfort to other kids. Last week, she returned to Glacial Ridge with her arms full of that kindness multiplied.

Kailer and her family made each blanket by hand, tucked in a matching stuffed animal (which she bought with her own money), and included an individually written and illustrated card for every child who might need a little extra comfort during their hospital visit.

It was heartwarming to have Kailer and her mom visit, share their story, and reunite with her ER nurse, Brandi. Seeing her personally deliver each gift to the departments that care for children was a powerful full-circle moment of healing, gratitude, and giving.

Thank you to Kailer and her family—and to the businesses they started to continue giving back, Intentional Living Co. + Kind Rooted, for reminding us that compassion continues to grow when shared. From their website: “Raising the next generation of light-givers.”

We also thank the 1st-grade teachers and students at Minnewaska Area Schools for inspiring kindness year after year during their annual Day of Caring in the community.
