Certified Nurse Practitioner Sara Martin will begin caring for patients at both Glenwood and Brooten Medical Centers in early November. She brings more than 20 years of nursing experience, including work in large metro hospitals and rural healthcare. Sara completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD, and has been a family nurse practitioner for the past three years.

“Sara’s experience and her connection to this community are a real benefit to the people we serve,” said Kirk Stensrud, CEO. “She’s a great fit for our team and for Heartfelt Care.”

Sara said her path to medicine started with family. “Watching my mom care for my grandparents and helping her made me want to be a caregiver, nurse, then provider.” She added, “Having lived in this community for 30+ years and raising my family here was the largest attraction to GRHS. However, the culture speaks for itself.”

When she’s not caring for patients, Sara enjoys time with her partner, Justin, their two children, and their Labradoodle, Cocoa. She is also a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
