Thanks to your online votes, Brandi Bast will throw the first pitch at the Twins game on May 6–National Nurses Day.
Brandi was nominated for her incredible dedication, compassion, and skill, not to mention being a devoted Twins fan. She was one of several outstanding nurses from across the state in the running as part of a special Nurses Night contest hosted by Nurse.org and the Minnesota Twins. With your support, she won this once-in-a-lifetime honor. Thank you to all the staff, patients, and community members who saw the contest on social media and rallied behind Brandi. It’s a testament to the pride and support shared throughout our entire GRHS family and the communities we care for.
Brandi began as an EMT with Glacial Ridge Ambulance in Brooten in 2010. She joined Glacial Ridge Hospital as a registered nurse in 2018 and continues to volunteer with the Brooten Ambulance service. Her long-standing commitment to care, on and off the clock, reflects both her passion for helping others and her dedication to the nursing profession.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we nominate Brandi Bast to throw out the first pitch at the Minnesota Twins game on Nurse Appreciation Night. Brandi embodies everything that makes a nurse extraordinary–compassion, dedication, and dependability. She is a natural educator, always willing to share her knowledge and mentor others, all while maintaining a calm and adaptable presence in even the most high-pressure situations.
Beyond her clinical skills, Brandi brings a fun and uplifting spirit to her team, making every shift brighter for both colleagues and patients. And as a die-hard Minnesota Twins fan, there could be no better person to step onto the mound and represent the nursing profession on this special night.
We hope you will consider Brandi for this honor–she is a shining example of what makes nursing incredible. No one would cherish this opportunity more than her!”
