“Riding for a Cause” Motorcycle Ride & Car Run Was a Hot One!

adults gather at parkThe 29th Annual Riding for a Cause Motorcycle Ride & Car Run rolled through Pope County on Saturday, June 21—and the summer heat made a strong appearance. That didn’t stop riders, drivers, and supporters from showing up with enthusiasm for the event.

“We are so grateful for the support we receive each year,” said Tina Blair, Glacial Ridge Hospice Manager.

The event was organized by the dedicated Hospice Ride Committee and supported by Glacial Ridge Hospice staff, bringing together motorcycle riders, car enthusiasts, volunteers, and donors for a meaningful cause. The annual event featured commemorative t-shirts, hats, and other swag, a picnic lunch in the park with free-will donations, chances at raffles and door prizes, and a scenic afternoon ride, followed by a nighttime ride around Lake Minnewaska. All proceeds go directly to support Glacial Ridge Hospice’s mission of compassionate end-of-life care.

“It truly takes a team to make this day happen,” Blair noted. “The Hospice Ride Committee does all the planning, but many people and organizations work together to make the event safe, fun, and meaningful.”

A heartfelt thank-you goes to Marthaler Chevrolet, the event’s long-time corporate sponsor, and to the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who generously donated funds or services to support local hospice care.

The funds also support grief and bereavement services for families.” As of today, this year’s event has raised over $27,000. On behalf of the Hospice Ride Committee and Glacial Ridge Hospice staff, thank you for continuing to support this meaningful event and the patients and families we serve.
