The Tree of Life Celebration is a Time to Honor and Remember
Loved ones who have passed away were remembered at the Glacial Ridge Hospice Tree of Life ceremony on November 16 at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
The ceremony included harp music by Judi Dahlseng, vocal solos by Brook Wilkin, and a message of hope from Pastor Andy League. During the candle-lighting ceremony, the names of loved ones were read, and family members and friends were invited to step forward to light a candle in their honor. New this year was a photo slide show of each honoree, provided by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home. Hospice Social Worker Amber Hvezda-Kirkwold read “The Three Wick Candle,” explaining the symbolism for anyone missing a loved one this holiday season. The wicks represent the memories of the past, comfort in the present, and strength in the future. Flames are a universal sign of light. May lightness enter the darkness of your grief.
