Walkers in a 5K race Scrub Run

Make Memories at the GRHS 5K Scrub Run

This Father’s Day Weekend

Lace-up your shoes and gather the family for the 11th annual Glacial Ridge Health System’s 5K Scrub Run/Walk on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9 am. The Scrub Run continues to grow, fostering health, wellness, and community connection. This year’s event lands on Father’s Day weekend, making it the perfect way to celebrate dads, get active, and support a great cause. Many families in our area benefit from the Glacial Ridge Hospice program.

Inspired by the late Dr. Mark Johnson, the Scrub Run encourages everyone to get active and enjoy a scenic route along Lake Minnewaska. Whether you run, walk, push your child in a stroller, pull them in a wagon, or walk alongside your family dog, “You don’t have to go fast, you just have to go!” The race is timed but not officially, so it’s as competitive as you want it to be, with medals awarded to the first-place male and female finishers. Last year Zach Palmer and Jillian Deutsch took top honors. Everyone registered is eligible to win a door prize.

Participants are invited to go all-out in their scrubs or wear this year’s commemorative shirt or tank top. Download or pick up a registration form at Glacial Ridge Wellness Center or register online at glacialridge.org/ScrubRun. 5K training and running tips are also available on the website. The registration fee is $30 for 16 years and older; $25 for 15 and younger. Register by June 2 to be guaranteed a t-shirt or tank. For more information or questions about the Scrub Run, contact Joanna at [email protected] or call 320.334.5539. Join the fun and support hospice care. We look forward to seeing you June 14 at City Park in Glenwood!
